How Do You Make Your Printer the Default Printer?
If you have more than one printer in your office how often do you simply press print - then then panic as you have just printed a 20 page document to the wrong printer?
This happens more than you can believe so this article is going to discuss how you can customise your work space so that you know which printer your documents are going and how you can force you computer to select a printer of choice.
How to make you printer default
- Go to Start > Control Panel > (in classic view ) > Printers and Faxes > Right click on the printer and select Set as Default Printer
or
- Go to Start > Control Panel > (in catagory view ) Printers and other Hardware > Printers and Faxes > Right click on the printer and select Set as Default Printer
Tidy up you printers
Often printers have been changed many times during a computer's lifetime and print drivers are still installed which serve only to confuse the problem. Work out which printers are not needed and delete them.
How to delete redundant printers
- Go to Start > Control Panel > (in classic view ) > Printers and Faxes > Right click on the printer and select Delete
or
- Go to Start > Control Panel > (in catagory view ) Printers and other Hardware > Printers and Faxes > Right click on the printer and select Delete
