Cannot Open Outlook 2007?
There are some handy commands that will help repair broken Outlook 2007 files. These commands are run from the run command (Windows keyboard + R is a shortcut to get the run window open)
- outlook.exe /safe will open Outlook in safe mode where unwanted menus can be customized or problems can sometimes be repair from this prompt
- outlook.exe /resetnavpane will repair problems with not being able to start outlook to removing addons that are redundants
- outlook.exe /cleancategories Deletes any custom category names that you have created. Restores categories to the default names.
- outlook.exe /cleanprofile removes invalid profile keys and re-creates default registry keys where applicable.
- outlook.exe /cleanviews restores default views. All custom views that you created are lost.
- outlook.exe /firstrun starts Outlook as if it were run for the first time.
- outlook.exe /nocustomize starts Outlook without loading outcmd.dat (customized toolbars).

SCAN UTILITY FOR MS OUTLOOK
Scanpst.exe is the generic scan tool for most MS Outlook programs.
The Inbox Repair tool is automatically installed with all English-language Microsoft Outlook installation options depending on your operating system.
For Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Windows 2000:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT
For Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows 98:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\95
The Scanpst.exe file is typically located in one of the following folders:
<disk drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\
<disk drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033
The Scanpst.exe file for Outlook 2007 is is typically located in the following folder:
<disk drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
The Scanpst.exe file for Outlook 2010 is is typically located in the following folder:
<disk drive>\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
To run the Inbox Repair Tool, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then point to Find or to Search, depending upon your operating system.
In the Search for files or folders named box, type scanpst.exe
Double click the Scanpst.exe file to open the Inbox Repair Tool.
Type the path and the file name of the personal folders (.pst) file which is typically found in C:\users\home\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst.
Click Start.
REPAIRING AN OFFLINE FOLDER FILE (.OST)
You may want to scan and repair your .ost if which is the same directions as .pst only use the scan.ost scanner
